Bittersweet back to school

 

Thursday was a bittersweet day for me. As everyone is gearing up for the kids heading back to school, I am now in my second day of quiet. Yes, the kids went back to school on Thursday, I know; nothing new as this happens every year. But this year is different for me... My Baby Girl started kindergarten!!

I knew that the day was coming when I would have to let her go, but seriously? After being home with her everyday for 5 straight years, it's heartbreaking to watch her walk away and know that she won't be home asking me questions or helping me cook.

I've got a lot of free time on my hands now, and really I don't know what to do with myself! I ended up walking around Kroger for 3 hours Thursday morning, not to mention that I forgot half of what I went there for and had to go back!  With all three kids in school, I am looking forward to having more play dates and parties to plan and schedule. I just know that this year they will all want to go to every party they are invited to. So when browsing TinyPrints.com for back to school stuff and finding the monthly planners I knew that I had to have them! Not only can I personalize one for each child ( so we don't get any dates mixed up) I can also get one for myself that can be the main hub! My kids love having their own calendars, so this is a great step for them. They can keep them in their backpacks or leave them at home and then scheduling parties, play dates, and even after school activities will be so much easier.  I am thinking that next we will be after some lunch box notes and emergency contact cards!
